I was on the east coast the past few days and ended up missing the California Mille this year. After looking through the photos at bringatrailer it looks like I picked a bad year to miss. I've been to 2 of them and the field from 2009 was definitely the strongest I've seen...or the most interesting to me. We'll be heading back in 2010.
