Chase For The Cup

I'm not gonna lie. Nascar is my least favorite type of car racing. That isn't to say we don't enjoy ourselves getting together for a few beers watching dudes turn left every Sunday. I'm just saying if racers still moonshined during the week and were as cool as King Petty I'd be more excited about this whole stupid chase thing. So now only 12 cars matter but everyone gets to be on the track? Dumb.

Zach Reynolds. 30 Years Later

Today is the 30th anniversary of the death of Zach Reynolds. It's too bad whenever anyone dies young...but I think he did a pretty good job of making his time count. Have a good safe weekend.

Flat Track On My Mind

It's hard to find things as cool today as they were in the 70's and nearly impossible to find things as cool today as they were in the 30's and 40's. Besides all the "silly" modern safety equipment flat track racing gets pretty close. Bikes haven't changed much and the racers are still fun. Haven't been down to the races in a while. The next one is Sept. 12 at the Orange County Speedway.
